Lao Translation
Lao is the official language of Laos. Lao language is spoken by more than three million people worldwide. Lao is also spoken in other countries including Myanmar (Burma), Indonesia, Malaysia.
Lao is closely related to Thai and belongs to Tai subgroup of the Sino-Tibetan family of languages. Its script was adopted from that of the Mons, the earliest civilized people of Burma. It contains forty-five consonants, but only about half of these signs represent pure consonantal sounds, the others being merely tonal indications.
