New Delhi, Monday, March 28, 2022: Marketing, both traditional and digital, has become increasingly important for established as well as budding companies and is more relevant for localization and language translation companies. CITLoB conducted a virtual event on 17 March 2022to facilitate conversation on “How to Improve Sales For Translation & Localization Companies”, wherein Crystal Hues President Sudheen M was among the distinguished panellists which included the leaders of the largest translation and localisation companies in India. 

Speaking about the importance of marketing for language companies, Sudheen M remarked, “Especially in the given age, we are living in, where we all are connected socially and digitally and everything is online, marketing becomes even more important. Marketing and Sales are no longer two separate departments, they are much more integrated”. Talking about the amount one should dedicate to marketing, he elaborated, “I take an industry average, which is about 10-12% for both marketing and sales. For marketing alone, I would prefer 3-5%. The amount also depends upon which stage your organization is in. Maybe in the initial stages, you would have to invest a bit more than normal”.  

The discussion explored several poignant questions like the importance of having a sales team, getting recurring clients, language-specific marketing strategies for newcomers, trending domains in language conversion, the importance of GST for small translation companies, standard pricing in India, best strategies to acquire new clients, the impact of the ongoing Russia v/s Ukraine war on the overall growth of the translation industry worldwide, lead generation strategy, and much more.
